Our Process

Free feasibility consultation

Got a great idea but need to know if its feasible? This is where we discuss your new product or service concept and check to see if it’s feasible.

Our feasibility study takes into account many factors and generally concludes with us providing answers to the following questions;

  • Is it technically possible?
  • How much does it cost to design?
  • What is the unit/production cost?
  • How long will it take to get my product to market?
  • Will Elemental Electronics invest in the idea? (See Startups)

CONCEPT DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

Using state-of-the-art 3D modelling software, we create virtual designs to depict the final product. We work closely with our customers to ensure that they are continuously updated with the look and feel of their future product.

Mechanical, electronic and software are rapidly prototyped and tested to ensure the product meets requirements and is easy to manufacture/assemble. Technical Engineering challenges including:

  • Project planning
  • Technical research
  • 3D CAD modelling
  • Product feature lists
  • Rapid prototyping
  • Proof-of-concept exercises

DETAILED DESIGN

This is where we start to bring our Engineering disciplines together and create detailed technical documentation. During the detailed design we usually take an iterative “rapid prototyping” approach to solving any technical challenges.

Sample production parts are run here, which ensure that the overall design solution satisfies the project objective, these samples are often given to our customers as well.

  • Electrical/PCB schematics
  • Mechanical 2D drafts
  • Final production prototypes
  • Bill of materials and souring
  • Design files
  • Tooling/machining

VALIDATION AND TESTING

A product isn’t complete until its been proven and tested. Our rigorous validation and testing procedures ensure that every product that has been designed by us meets the requirements and is of the highest quality.

By law some products require special certifications and approvals, using our local testing partners we can validate and test products to meet these standards.

Testing can be expensive, but our experienced team ensure that designs we produce minimize the risk of failing a test. To this end we also have in-house “pre-compliance” equipment that can indicate if a design might pass or fail.

  • Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) emissions/immunity
  • C-Tick, FCC, CE
  • ESD
  • Environmental testing
  • Ingress protection (IP45, IP55, IP56, IP65, IP66, IP67)
  • UL certification

DOCUMENTATION AND ON-GOING SUPPORT

To tell users how to get started and use a product in the best possible way, you need clear and easily accessible documentation. Documentation comes in many forms, it could be a hard-copy user manual that is shipped with your product, quick start cards or even videos posted online on how to use a product.

At EE we create documentation for your product, so that end-customers enjoy the best user-experience. Fast and on-going support is critical to maintain a strong market image. At Elemental Electronics we can provide fast and reliable support to end-users and/or we can create an infrastructure so its easier our customers to communicate with end-users; some methods including:
